The story of my first race
In my first racing weekend on November 13th-15th, I eagerly joined the ranks of the finest karting drivers from across the country, competing in the thrilling last stage of the Romanian Cup. As the first race loomed just three hours away, I immersed myself in the atmosphere. I observed other races, fine-tuned my tactics, and prepared my kart alongside my team. After an hour of absorbing the intense competition, I returned to our tent. The sight of everyone diligently working and the resounding encouragement from mechanics and parents filled me with a sense of belonging. In that moment, I knew that this was my place, and that Formula 1 was my ultimate life goal. With a wealth of advice received, it was time for me to suit up. Outside, my mechanic awaited me with a wide smile, having warmed up the engine. Together, we headed to the pre-grid. Ten minutes later, the green flag waved, signaling our entry onto the track. As competitors, we stood together, awaiting the moment the lights would go out, waving left and right. However, fate dealt a swift blow, and after a mere 7 seconds on the track, I found myself involved in an accident. Thankfully, everyone emerged unharmed, but despite finishing the race in fourth place, I couldn't help but feel a deep sadness and disappointment. Four days later, I accepted the accident as a learning experience. I gleaned valuable lessons from it and set my sights on what lay ahead, steadfastly preparing for the future.
